"The Ranch by the Lonesome Pine"Gordon,I remember the day our mother brought you home from the hospital in Wakefield, Mass. just like it was yesterday. The great depression took our father's job and we moved back to Maine to the farm by the lonesome pine in East Vassalboro . No electricity, a dug well we had to chip the ice out of every morning and evening to get our water, the outhouse with Sears Roebuck catalogues for toilet paper, our mother leaving for town when you were 5 and I was 10 – never to return. Growing up was hard but we did it together and somehow, we managed to survive. You married a wonderful lady and together raised a family to be proud of. You were not only my brother but you and Dot were Gloria and my best friends. I miss our trips to Ft.Meyers and your trips to back home to Maine. You are the most sincere and giving person I ever knew and I miss you terribly. I miss Gloria as I know you missed Dot. But, you are with them now and for that I am envious. I love you Brother. Until we meet again, Conrad
I used to love to listen to Gordon and Dottie sing back in the '70's. My Prayers and Condolences to the Gordon Family.Gary WilhoiteGhent, KY
Thank you Pastor Hatch for your kind words.
Gordon was a member of the Palermo Christian Church. He lived his faith in a quiet but consistent way. He was always ready to help behind the scenes and wanted no thanks or glory. He was an encouragement to me and to many others in the congregation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. We realize that through his faith in Jesus Christ, he is in heaven and life is so much better for him now than it was while he was on this earth.
Two of the biggest influences of my life came from Poppi and my Dad. My Dad showed me what it was to be strong and to help even when it hurts. Poppi showed me that even the strongest men look up to someone and good fathers will forever be heroes. To my Aunts and Uncle, to my Father, may you find peace. Our thoughts are with you.Jed Mason
I will always remember his smile and laugh. My deepest sympathy and love to you and your family Rhonda. May you all find the strength to get through this difficult time. Love, Cheri
If I could put my thoughts in a book about you it would be filled with a million wonderful stories. You are the best father a girl could ever wish to have and my life has been blessed because you were part of it. I know the last few years have been hard for you however now you are with your bride once again. You have waited so long to see her. I will miss you forever and love you for even longer. I'm going to be ok because you raised me to be strong. And I'm going to take care of my family the way you and mom always took care of me. You can rest now. I love you with all my heart. – Rhonda
