Anthony Raymond Carcia

Birth Date: November 7, 1966
Death Date: November 1, 2018

It is of great sadness that the Carcia family must announce the sudden passing of Anthony R. Carcia, age 51. Anthony passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Roseland, Fla. after enduring multiple health complications over the years.

He was born and a lifelong resident in Medford, MA where he had many friends over the years. By being a friend of Anthony’s, you were a friend of everybody.

Anthony was a devoted Boston Sports Fan. He enjoyed watching and collecting memorabilia of his favorite Boston athletes.  Watching a sports event with Anthony was an experience many participated in and will never forget.  You felt like you were in the game, he was so lively.  Anthony followed his passion for horticulture after his move to Florida and gained much knowledge and success with the long growing seasons and a multitude of tropical variety of botanicals.  Anthony’s indomitable spirit shall be sorely missed and will never be forgotten!

Anthony is survived by his loving parents Salvatore and Caroline Carcia of North Fort Myers, Fla, brother Salvatore Carcia, Jr., sister Caroline Carcia and partner, Michael Saviano of Salem, NH. He is also survived by his Aunt Angela Reese and husband Miles of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Uncle Domenic (Amby) Carcia and wife Diane of St. Cloud, Fla and many cousins who he spent lots of time with while in Fla.

The immediate family will be holding a private memorial in Florida. A celebration of life will be held in Medford, MA in the coming months where friends & family can gather.

In memory of Anthony, the family request donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.  To share a story or photo, leave a tribute or to offer condolences to the family at this difficult time, please visit Anthony’s memorial webpage at and sign his guestbook.

  8. Good bye to a force of nature.
I have so many priceless memories of Carcia (I never called him his first name ever.) and not one fails to include something hilarious Carcia either said or did. Most memories revolve around a motor vehicle incident for better or worse but always funny. He was a person I truly sought out to be around while growing up because you felt like you were safe (when not fearful of your life ending in whatever fast car he had) and home being around him while non stop laughter emanated from him and his colorful expressions. I will miss his voice.

Medford has lost a true Hall of Famer.

  9. To The Carcia Family

It leaves me with a heavy heart with the passing of Anthony. I never met Anthony but, knowing his parents, Sal and Caroline he was a warm and tender man, gentle as a giant, but now God has called Anthony home. Anthony will continue his accomplishments with the Lord. Rest in peace Anthony.

  10. Rest in Peace my friend

    Written by: Jamie Carroll

I was so sad to hear of Anthony’s passing. Anthony was a friend of mine for nearly 30 years. We met at school in Boston in 1989. I moved to Florida in the early 90’s and Anthony moved down shortly after that and lived a few buildings from me and we also worked together. We both moved back to Mass at different times and then we worked together again at AT&T. Anthony eventually rented an apartment from me and he lived right next door. We spent a lot of time together and we had a lot of fun. I’m glad I was able to visit with him a couple of times in Florida over the past few years. He was one of a kind and I will miss him.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

  11. I will miss talking sports in the Pharmacy with Anthony. He was a good friend. My deepest condolences to his family and other friends. He will be missed by all. May the angels embrace him.
