Albert Scretchen
July 5, 1967 - May 2, 2022
Albert Scretchen was born on July 5, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY, to Eddie Scretchen Sr. and Tomasine Pritchard Scretchen. He was raised in New Jersey, where he graduated from Union High School, attended college, and spent most of his life before moving to The Sunshine State in 2008. He was incredibly musically gifted and loved to sing and play the piano. Albert was also very outgoing and could strike up a conversation with anyone. This allowed him to excel in various careers including media sales, where he was often awarded for his achievements, karaoke hosting, restaurant management, and travel & leisure. He especially loved working as a travel agent for cruise ships and found great joy in cruising around the world while helping others do the same. When on land, he could also be found spending time with his loved ones, riding motorcycles, and caring for his dogs. Above all of these things, Albert loved Jehovah God and, along with his family, looked forward to the resurrection. A beloved son and father, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Tomasine, whom he cared for deeply and gave special care right up until his passing; his children, Ashley Scretchen Condé (Hammerthon Condé) and Marlon-Terrell Scretchen; and his first grandchild whom he was thrilled to learn is on the way. He was preceded in passing by his father, Eddie Scretchen Sr.; his brother, Eddie Scretchen Jr.; and his sister, Crystal Scretchen. In his own words, which he shared only 2 weeks before passing, “There’s more to life than what you’re doing in your 9 to 5. We all have a gift in us, and if you’re not held back by fear, find it! There’s a scripture in the Bible that says all we need is sustenance and clothing and we should be content. I don’t have a boss, I’d do anything for my family, I’m good to my friends, and I’ll continue to travel and see the rest of this world. Hopefully this will inspire someone.” A private Celebration of Life Service will be Live Streamed on Saturday morning May 14th, 2022. Please contact Ashley Scretchen for an invitation or Fort Myers Memorial Gardens for information.
