Anne Pulliam Tipton
August 11, 1933 - January 28, 2022
Anne Pulliam Tipton, 88, after enjoying the 2021 holiday season, departed this life on January 28, 2022, after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia. She resided with and was in the care of her devoted son, Mark, and his spouse at their North Fort Myers home. Assistance was provided by the compassionate care givers of Hope Hospice of Lee County, Florida. Anne has been a resident of Fort Myers, Florida, since the summer of 1970 when she and her husband, Julian, and their three sons, Michael, Thomas, and Mark moved from Spotsylvania, Virginia. Anne and Julian’s daughter, Julianne, had relocated to Fort Myers during August of 1969 to attend Edison Community College. Anne, born August 11, 1933, was the youngest child of Tremain Crawford Pulliam of Richmond, Virginia, and Marian Jerrell Pulliam of Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Anne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julian Mason Tipton, Jr., her parents, and brother Emmett Pulliam. She is survived by her loving family: sister, Mae Ramone of Spotsylvania County, VA; children, Julianne Ross of Port Charlotte, FL, Michael Jerrell Tipton, Thomas Page Tipton, and Mark Wayne Tipton, all of Fort Myers, FL; eight grandchildren: Lora, Bryan, Tom Jr., Benjamin, Anthony, Leigh, Christopher, and Daniel; thirteen great-grandchildren: Francesca, Megan, David, Cameron, Emily, Ashley, Isaiah, Maison, Malia, Kaia, Zella, Taylor, and Riley; two step great-grandchildren: Sage and Izah; one great great-grandchild: Cash; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Anne and Julian made many friends and shared so very many happy memories while doing short-term mission work in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and New Mexico after Julian’s retirement. Anne served as a Sunday school teacher at Zoan Baptist Church in Spotsylvania County, Virginia; Fairview Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, Virginia; McGregor Baptist Church, Fort Myers, Florida, and attended Slater Road Baptist Church, North Fort Myers, Florida. She loved studying the Bible, gardening, painting, traveling, shopping, and was a very talented seamstress who enjoyed sharing her talents and teaching others, especially sewing and gardening. Anne will be greatly missed, but we know she is in a better place where she no longer suffers. No formal services are scheduled at this time. Details are to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to Hope Hospice of Lee County or the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated. We welcome all whose lives were touched by Anne’s beautiful smile, quick wit, giving personality, and love of our Lord and Savor to share their wonderful memories of her.
