Grazia Nora “Lenore” (Scillia) Maurillo, 96, of Ft. Myers, Florida died peacefully on November 6, 2020. Lenore was born in Lodi NJ, raised her family in Nutley NJ with her late husband, Nicholas Maurillo. She later also resided in Bradley Beach, NJ and Cape Coral, Florida. She was very active in the Catholic Community. Her Italian heritage and faith in the Lord guided her throughout her life. She was a person of faith who on a daily basis helped others, especially the sick. She was past president of the Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a founding member and Past President of the First Saturday Club, where she would volunteer her time to help adults with special needs. She was known for giving out The Green Scapular to those who were either sick or were in need of The Blessed Mothers protection. Lenore loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking for them. It was common knowledge in the community that she celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph with an open house luncheon and dinner for everyone who attended throughout the day. Later in life, she discovered a gift that the Lord bestowed upon her, an artistic talent. Staying true to her religious beliefs, she used her talent to paint separate portraits of Pope John Paul II and the Blessed Mother. As a result of her commitment to her faith, she was given the distinct honor to present them to the Holy Father in person during two separate private audiences. It addition to being predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, of 61 years, she was also predeceased by her parents, many siblings, and her sister-in-law Ida Palenski, who was like a sister to her. She is survived by her four sons and their spouses; Nicholas and Patricia Maurillo, Raymond and Patricia Maurillo, Barry and Sally Maurillo, Joseph and Gail Maurillo; her grandchildren; Raymond Maurillo, Kurt Maurillo and his wife Andee, Laura Harper and her husband Jim, Nicholas Maurillo and his wife Tori, Barry Maurillo and his wife, Brittany, Anthony Maurillo and his wife, Andrea, Vincent Maurillo and his wife, Kristen, Dominic Maurillo and his girlfriend, Gabriella, Gianna Maurillo, Natalia Luberto and her husband, Anthony; and also her great grandchildren; Zoee, Damon, Breanna, Ryker, Jackson, Addison, Nico and Isabella She is also survived by a sister Joyce Torcivia, and many loving nieces and nephews. A private funeral will be held for the immediate family.
