Dear Tommy and Jeff, We are thinking of you and your family at this trying time. I feel like we know your Dad from all the pics and all the stories. He sure seemed like a great guy!! Please know you are all in our prayers.
I’m so fortunate to have known Tom O’Brien since I was a little kid as his backyard neighbor. My dad even put up a gate to connect our yards so our families could go back and forth easily. I have so many fond memories of Tom and his wife, Maria. It seems like yesterday that I saw them, though it’s been over 20 yrs! Both of my parents truly adored Tom and kept in touch with the O’Briens after they moved. So, Tom was the life of the party but you all know this! As a young kid, I couldn’t understand how “ old” people could have more fun than me…having basement and block parties all the time. But between the O’Briens and other un-named wild neighbors, this was absolutely the case. Yes, I was jealous of their parties! Thankfully, after my father and mother passed away, we discovered the home movies of Tom and the other unruly adults and the wild parties. I’m blessed that I have these to remember the neighbors and I have them in my possession if anyone would like to see what an close neighborhood and a lot of alcohol can do to people. But, seriously, I’m truly saddened by his passing. I feel like a part of my heart has been taken away. I will cherish the memories I have of him and always smile when I think of being a kid and seeing Tom standing over by his shed doing something. ( I never really knew what he was doing! ) he loved his yard though. So sorry Maria, Tommy, Alan and Jeffery. My heart goes out to you. You are all like family to me. ??
May the peace of the Holy Comforter be with you and your family during this period of loss and may His grace extend until you meet again.
Maria and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you today. Pat was such a wonderful person and neighbor… he’ll be missed immensely. So sorry for your loss.
