In the Fall of 2002, I started attending the Computer Aided Drafting & Design program at Southwest Florida College of Business. By the start of the winter 2003 semester, I wasn't certain I really wanted to stay in this program or work in the engineering field. One of my professors worked in Rick's office and invited him into one of our classes as a guest speaker. Wow! His words convinced me that I was pursuing the proper career path! Here I am, 20 years later, and I'm still working as a CAD Designer in a Civil Engineering firm. Thank you again, Rick, for helping me decide to stay with this prosperous career that continues to let me work my talents. Welcome "home", my friend. See you in the next life.
Just learned of your passing today, Rick. It was an absolute pleasure to have known you as one of your employees many years ago. We kept in touch on and off throughout the years and I had only learned recently that you were ill. You were always regarded in SWFL as a premier high rise architect and you will continue to be hereafter. RIP Rick, you now can be reunited with your mom, dad and Michael. Hugs and condolences to Vince and Nicole.
I will always be grateful to Rick. He saved me from humiliating encounter that would’ve devastated me. He was a good man. Even when he was a young man at Notre Dame. Thank you so much.

It’s tough losing a life-long friend. Going back to our college days, over 50 years now, Rick was always fun loving, easy to get along with, and dedicated to his profession and most importantly his family. Last year when I visited him we enjoyed a round of golf together and ate chocolate ice cream that night. I’ll do that again this week in celebration of his life.
RIP Rick McCormack…i just learned about you passing.
I am devastated. You were such a great friend and architect.
I will miss driving together to the AIA meetings, our conversations and your contagious Cuban laughter …
Wherever you went Rick, I am sure you will transform your surrounding as you did on earth and will keep touching souls as you did touched us mortals down here.
Hugs my friend…
Vince and Nicole, although we never met, you were always in Rick’s conversations…my condolences.
I knew Rick when we both attended Chistopher Columbus High School class of 1967. It was not until 50 years later that we discovered we both lived in Fort Myers all this time..20 minutes away.
We played golf together many weekends and shared wonderful memories of the days at Columbus High where he was a star Tennis Player. I shall miss him terribly and I rest secure in the knowledge that he is at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ and that I will see him again when My time comes.
I was fortunate to have worked with Rick on many of his projects from the early years starting in the 80s. Then also getting together with him after hours for cocktails with our small group of friends to discuss the world events and laughs! He will be missed but not forgotten. Bart & Debra
