Ricardo Jorge McCormack's Obituary
Ricardo Jorge McCormack, known to friends and family as Rick, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on October 31, 1949, in Havana, Cuba, and resided in Fort Myers, FL.
Rick had an appetite for life and enjoyed pursuing his favorite hobbies, such as golfing and fishing. He had a particular love for cooking and relished in the memories of his travels around the world, where he delighted in experimenting with different cuisines. Paella was one of his favorite dishes, and he would often prepare it for his loved ones.
An avid sports enthusiast, Rick's heart belonged to Notre Dame and the Miami Dolphins. He followed their games passionately.
He was an architect for 50 years in the South Florida community. Ricardo graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1974 and attended Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. Professionally, Rick served as the President of Southwest Florida AIA. His leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.
Above all, Rick cherished his family. He is survived by his children Nicole Boss (Brian) and Vincent McCormack (Stacy Dees), as well as his grandchildren Kennedy Boss, Wesley Boss, and Alana Monahan. He was a loving brother to Alicia Malave (Adolfo) and an uncle to Andres Malave (Ashley), Andrea Malave, and Alexandra Malave.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Emma McCormack, and his son Michael McCormack.
Rick's passionate and vibrant personality touched the lives of all who knew him. As a member of the Church of the Resurrection, he found solace in his faith. His family will be celebrating his life with a Mass at the Church of the Resurrection on Friday, June 7th at 1 PM, followed by a celebration of life at Cristoff's on McGregor.
