Agnes M. Richardson's Obituary
Agnes M. Richardson died on August 25, 2015 at Hope Hospice House located at Health Park. She was born March 23, 1915 in Muskegon, Michigan and celebrated her 100th birthday with many friends and family at Barkley Place where she resided for the past seven years. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, Orville Yeager and Annjane Seyferth and her beloved husband George Robert Richardson who died April 10, 1994. After graduation from high school Agnes attended beauty school in Chicago and upon completion returned to Muskegon where she worked with her father and mother, Jennie and Fay Yeager, as a hairdresser. George and Agnes were married in September 1937 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1987. In 1953 George and Agnes moved from Michigan to Fort Myers, Florida. Agnes was employed for many years as a secretary for the local office of Life of Georgia Insurance Company. Agnes was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking and social activities at Myerlee Gardens with her many friends where she lived prior to her move to Barkley Place. Upon relocating to Barkley Place she enjoyed playing bingo and rarely missed a game with the other residents. Agnes is survived by her son Robert G. Richardson (Dorothy) of Fort Myers, two grandchildren Cheryl Monroe (Paul) of Plano, Texas and Barry Richardson (Leanne) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; 4 great grandchildren, Matthew and Evan Monroe and Reagan and Eloise Richardson. A memorial service for Agnes will be held 11am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family.
