Albert Frederick Senese Sr.'s Obituary
Albert Frederick Senese Sr. of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully following some recent health challenges on Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was 95 years old.Albert was born in the West Side of Chicago, Illinois on October 3, 1922 and was the proud son of Josephine (Spolinski) and Anthony Paul Senese. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Navy and saw action during World War II in both the Europe and Pacific Theatres and was part of the Philippines liberation. He was awarded several commendations for his actions in combat, including a Bronze Star and a Victory Medal with 8 stars. Following his military service, Albert went to work for AT&T Technologies and made a very successful career prior to his retirement as a Section Chief. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, became a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a member of the Power Squadron where he volunteered as a Junior Navigator.He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Mary K. Lee, Anthony Senese (Martie), Carrie Senese and Butch Senese (Tonya); eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a number of extended family members and a multitude of others who were proud to call him a friend. Sadly, he was predeceased by his two infant twin sisters, his brother Anthony Senese, his loving daughter Christine Curtis and his adored wife of 53 years, Barbara (Hayden) Senese.A Visitation for Albert will be conducted from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida, (239) 574-4545.
