I adored my uncle…even if he did make me eat red licorice with mustard. He loved to joke and kid but there wasn’t a mean bone in his body. I think of him often. There will never be another one like him.

Just heard that Blackie is no longer with us….sad, sad, news. Worked for him for over 10 years at Champps in Minneapolis, he was a delightful, funny, generous, and caring man. God bless his friends and family. RIP Blackie. Karen Johnson

I just heard that Blackie died. What a shock! In 1974 June 19, My first son Matt was born in St.Josephs hospital in St. Paul. My wife had been in labor for over 24 hrs before delivering. I walked down the street to the ShowBoat and ordered a Brandy on the rocks. While writing a check, Blackie said – we don't take checks, I'm sorry. I said even from a LaBine from Argyle? – He gave me a double take and he recognized me and said Of Course – How much do you want? I didn't have any cash and there was no cash machines at that time. I saw Blackie many times at Blackieson the lake in St. Paul – and have always enjoyed the Landerville family. Blackie was a wonderful man and will be missed.Sincerely,'Jim and Barb LaBineCottage Grove, MN
My heart goes out to the Landreville family. I've had the great opportunity to be a part of their family with fishing, hunting and exotic trips along with hours of laughter that only Blackie could make happen. He will be forever missed but never forgotton. Mike Wells
