Alfred Fredrick Ross' Obituary
Alfred F. Ross, of Fort Myers and former long-time resident of Cross Creek in South Fort Myers, and former resident of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 95.
He was the son of Alfred and Nelli Mae of Dalton, PA/Cleveland, OH. He attended and graduated from Dalton High School in 1943. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific and China during World War II. After being discharged from the service, Alfred returned to Cleveland, OH where he met and married his wife Irene of 54 years, who preceded him in death in June 2004.
He is survived by his sisters, Celia Lilly of Oakhill, WV, and Melissa Wood of Independence, OH. He was the brother of Howard, Enceno, CA; Mary Upholz of Cleveland, OH and Minnie Callahan of Chesterwood, OH.
Alfred worked in Quality Control as District Supervisor for Curtis-Wingot Corp, Woodridge, NJ and Avco/Lycoming of Stratford, Conn. In 1974, he joined Milbar Corp, Chagrin Falls, OH as Quality Control Manager and retired from that position in 1992.
By 1993, Alfred and Irene were ready for the retired life and moved to Fort Myers, where they enjoyed playing golf, taking short trips and meeting new people.
Immediate funeral arrangements are private. Arrangements for Alfred's final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Cremation rites will be accorded and Alfred will thereafter be laid to rest with his previously deceased wife Irene during a private service at the Cremation Garden located inside the Sylvan Terrace Section at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
