Alice Ann Thompson's Obituary
Alice Ann Thompson, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Bonita Springs, Florida, with her family by her side on January 11, 2020. She was born December 20, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of six children, to the late Ignatius and Angeline Guziak. During the Great Depression the family moved to Medford, Wisconsin, where they owned a farm and started a small business.
Alice eventually returned to Chicago where she married Stanley Thompson in 1950, literally the boy next door. She worked in financial services until 1964. They moved to Kansas for two years and then on to Orange, California, with their two daughters and opened a restaurant and catering business.
Alice worked hard and loved to have fun. She was smart and had a sharp sense of humor. She was a great cook and enjoyed a lifelong passion for entertaining, dancing, golf, football and horse racing. She loved country music and even sang on a local radio station in her youth. She was a devout Catholic and was particularly active in the RCIA program. Alice was a lovely compassionate woman who above all loved her family.
Alice and Stan were happily married 59 years until his death in 2009. She moved from California to Bonita Springs, Florida, in 2013 to be near family.
Alice is survived by her daughters Donna Thompson and Debra Galvin, son-in-law Michael Galvin; granddaughter Kelly Robson and her husband David Robson; granddaughter Alyssa Magnus and her husband Christopher Magnus; and seven great-grandchildren, William Robson, June Robson, Benjamin Robson, Michael Magnus, Elaina Magnus, Brooke Magnus and Grady Magnus.
