Teijido, Alida's Obituary
Alida Teijido, 79, passed away on Wednesday July 31st, 2024 in Cape Coral, Florida where she had
been a resident for 16 years. She was born to the late Constantino and Manuela Cadavieco on
December 29, 1944 in Matanzas, Cuba.
Alida and her husband Martin came to the United States and settled in Michigan in 1971 to provide
a better life for their growing family. She previously owned a typewriting instruction business with
her siblings back in Cuba and went on to work at the University of Michigan as a stock keeper. She
was a dedicated worker, but her real passion was caring for her family. Alida lived her life for her
family, showing up for every event for her children and grandchildren. There was nothing she cared
for more.
Left behind to cherish Alida’s memory are her beloved husband of 56 years, Martin Teijido; children
Elizabeth Schultz (Tyler Sr.), Oliver Teijido (Andrea), and Alexander Teijido; grand children Tyler A.
Schultz Jr. (Tori), Omara S. Teijido, Jack M. Schultz (Megan), and Benjamin Teijido; sister Miriam; sister in law Juana; brother in law Julio. She was preceded in passing by her brothers Mario and Omar, and
Omar’s wife Haydee. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 6th, 2024 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Fort Myers Memorial
Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the cemetery, with reception afterwards.
