Allen J. Shuster, D.D.S. of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Fort Myers passed away peacefully in Florida on Saturday, February 13, 2021 following some recent health challenges. He was 73 years old. Dr. Shuster was born in Detroit, Read Obituary
I am so sorry to hear of Allen's passing. He was so kind to come visit me at Shiva, about five years ago when my husband - his old friend Larry Ashley - passed away and this was after we hadn't seen each other for decades. This was such a kind thing to do and I was so touched. My sincere condolences to you and your whole family. Allen was so proud of you.

Allen lived for his family. He was never happier than when he was with his children and grandchildren, or speaking of them. He was a wonderful husband and by all accounts a phenomenal dentist. He will be missed but not forgetten.

Carol, Richard and Adam we are so saddened for your loss. We felt so incredibly blessed to be your neighbor. Our boys always enjoyed helping Allen each season install his dock in the spring and remove it in the fall. Allen always took the time to talk with our boys and took a genuine interest in each of them. Peter and I always enjoyed asking Allen about how many fish he caught each day. It was beautiful seeing Allen out on the water each day doing what he loved to do. Allen's kind heart and authenticity will always be remembered. With each fish Peter or the boys catch, they will think of Allen!

Carol, Richard, Adam, and Jeff - I am so sorry for your loss. Cousin Allen was always sweet and kind. He will live forever in our memories and in our hearts.
Dr. Shuster hired me as his assistant in 2009, during my years working alongside him I became not only an employee but a member of his work family as well. As anyone who knew him he had a sense of humor that could either make you blush or laugh so hard you had tears in your eyes. His love of dentistry and of his patients were so well known in the Commerce- West Bloomfield area. He treated everyone the same and it was always with compassion, he had a gentle touch, honesty and respect. He used to always say, “ I want to lay my head down on my pillow at night knowing I did the right thing”.
After he sold his practice I still kept in touch with him all these years. He was so excited when I told him I was going to be a grandma and he would always keep me updated on his grandkids as well. My heart goes out to his wife, Carol, and to his sons Richard and Adam and their families. Prayers for comforting you all!

Dear Carol, Adam, Richard and the rest of the families;
We are so saddened by the news and wish we could be with you. I have nostalgic memories growing up near my cousins in Oak Park and attending OPHS. And who could forget all the tall tales following fishing trips by Allen, interspersed of course with his dry wit. Even though we haven't been close in recent years, the few times we have visited, it was clear that Allen was such a devoted, and fun, husband, father, and grandfather, We'll miss you dearly.
