Amy Doke Bartholomew's Obituary
Amy Doke Bartholomew, 58, of Bokeelia, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home on October 29, 2021. She was born on July 7, 1963, and raised in Wauchula, Florida.
She graduated from Hardee County High. She went on to study at Mars Hill University before soon meeting her beloved husband of 37 years Brian Bartholomew. Together they raised 2 children: Bailey and Bo, in Fort Myers, FL.
Amy had a successful career at The Wildflower women’s boutique in The Royal Palm Square before pursuing her passion for boating and fishing where she then worked as a Store Manager at West Marine for over 12 years.
Besides spending time with family and friends, Amy had a passion for cooking, fishing, making floral arrangements, taking sunset photos, and caring for her labs Blue, Pearl, and Bear. She also had a great sense of adventure and loved taking trips with Brian to Bermuda, the Florida Keys, and Alaska. She also loved spending most of her time at their home in the North Georgia mountains. She was an exceptional angler and enjoyed many fishing tournaments.
Amy had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.
Amy is survived by her husband, Brian Bartholomew, daughter, Bailey Ward (Scotty Ward), and son, Bo Bartholomew. Along with three sisters, brother and sister-laws, nieces, and a nephew. Amy was looking forward to the arrival of her grandson due in February 2022.
A celebration for Amy with friends will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mote Marine to honor her passion for sea life and marine research.
