Amy Ruth Thompson, 86, of Fort Myers, died September 27, 2015 at her residence. Memorial service will be held 7:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Reception in Fellowship Hall will follow service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Missions Fund. Born Amy Ruth Almquist, April 25, 1929, Alden, NY to Walter and Amy Almquist. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Carl and Calvin Almquist. She is survived by her children, Carol Ruby, Fort Myers and Michael Ruby, Towson, MD and two grandchildren, Monet and David Ruby, Towson, MD. Amy raised her children in York, PA. Amy was married to George Ruby, the late Herbert Gillman and the late Ray Thompson. Amy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a past president of Women In The Church, Secretary to Summit Christian School Board and served on Westminster Presbyterian Church Missions Team.
