Anita B. Fineman's Obituary
Anita B. Fineman, 71, a 40-year resident of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of New York and Germany, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born August 30, 1946 in Weisbaden, Germany to William and Betty Bautz, now deceased.Anita was a loving mother, devoted wife, and wonderful friend. She was married to Dr. Matthew J. Fineman (deceased) of the Foot and Ankle Centers of Charlotte County, where she helped run the front office for many years. Her spirit and fun-loving personality filled a room upon entry, leaving everyone around her with a smile. Her competitive side was strong, and there is no doubt that her tennis friends can recall her yelling to herself, “DAMMIT ANITA!” when she missed a big shot. If you ever needed to find her at a party or wherever music was playing, you never needed to look beyond the dancefloor where she was full of smiles, hand-clapping, and hip-shaking. But competitive edge and fun-loving spirit aside, her true nature was that of caring and empathy. Whether it was her family, friends, people whom she did not yet know, and even animals, her heart knew no bounds for anyone in need. She is survived by her loving son, David W. Fineman of Ft. Myers, FL; stepchildren, Jody Schwartz (Ira) of New York City, NY and Michael Fineman of Punta Gorda, FL; sister, Ellen Shapiro of Punta Gorda, FL; sister-in-law Maxine Bentolila of Punta Gorda, FL; six step-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members in Florida and Germany.A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3:30 PM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33907.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, in loving memory of Anita B.
