Ann Ayers' Obituary
Ann Ayers, 83 of Fort. Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024. Ann was born on December 15, 1940 to Dorothy (Williamson) and William Adams in Bloomington, Indiana.
After graduating from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Ann attended Indiana University where she met her husband, Jack. The majority of their married life was spent in Lowell, Indiana where Ann and Jack raised their two sons, John and Kent. While living in the Lowell area, Ann was President of the Junior Women’s Club, served on the Lowell Public Library Board and enjoyed volunteering at Lake Prairie Elementary School. She was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church where she served as a trustee.
After eleven years of frequently visiting Fort Myers Ann and Jack decided to make it their forever home. They enjoyed 23 years as members of The Golf Club at Crown Colony. In 2007, Ann was the Ladies Nine Hole Club Champion. She also served as a trustee for Faith United Methodist Church and was a member of the Crown Colony Community Garden Club.
Throughout Ann’s life she was a dedicated IU fan and enjoyed cheering for the Hoosiers. She played in a variety of bridge groups, enjoyed golf, board games and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and loved the challenge of trivia games and TV shows like, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Ann’s devotion to family was always a priority. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her memory will be cherished by her husband Jack of 64 years, son's John (Brenda), Kent (Amanda), grandchildren Arlena, Casey, Cody, Avril, Shaun and great grandchildren Alex, Allyson and April.
Ann’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her final arrangements. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday February 9th at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Memorial Gardens 1589 Colonial Boulevard Fort Myers.
