I remember visiting with Aunt Ann and Uncle Jim in 1975 at their home. She was the epitome of grace and charm. I remember the visit very fondly although I was only 15 at the time. Rest in Peace Aunt Ann – heaven surely gained another gracious extraordinaire woman today.
Ann Lacy was one of the most wonderful people that I can remember who played such an important role in my life. Throughout my 70 years, so many people have asked me "who was your favorite teacher" and "why did you become a teacher". In every case, I have answered, Mrs. Lacy, my 1st grade teacher at Edison Park. She taught us with love, dedication and a caring that was so important to those of us just starting out in life. No other teacher ever made an impact like her and who knows how many thousands of others she influenced to either become teachers and to genuinely care for people like she did. I want the family to know that she is one person who left an impact on those of us who knew her and that as long as I live I will continue to tell people that " Mrs. Lacy was my best and favorite teacher!" She truly loved each of us.
Lacy family you are in our prayers and thoughts at this time, the Bowen family.
What a wonderful friend and teaching associate we found in Ann. We planned grade level lessons together, worked well together, and laughed together creating so many memories. We enjoyed keeping in contact even after moving several states away. Ann was dedicated to her teaching, church, and community. She was truly loved and we will miss her dearly!Mike and Susan Gould
