Anna Marie Morelli's Obituary
Anna ‘Ann’ Marie Morelli, 88, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 1st, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter.
Ann was born and raised in the East Pittsburgh, PA area. She graduated from East Pittsburgh High School before heading west to Southern California, where she worked, traveled, and embraced life to the fullest. On a trip back to Pittsburgh, she met the love of her life, Tom Morelli. Together, they raised two sons, TJ and Tony. Although Tom passed far too soon, Ann’s grit, faith, and fierce love carried her forward.
With the support of an incredible community, she took on the role of both mom and dad—working in the Norwin School District by day and holding down the bleachers at every sporting event by night. She never missed a game, never missed a moment, and never hesitated to encourage and push her sons toward strong character.
A practicing Catholic with a deep love for Jesus, Ann was equally at home in a parish pew or attending a non-denominational Bible church with her kids. Her faith wasn’t just something she believed—it was something she lived.
After her sons graduated high school, Ann moved to Fort Myers, FL to join her cousin Marie Grace and began a new chapter—working at the hospital and later delighting kids and parents alike at Toys Ahoy on Sanibel Island. She had a unique way with children, a tender heart beneath a tough exterior, and a laugh that could light up any room.
Ann was truly one of a kind—fiercely loyal, hilariously blunt, unapologetically independent, and deeply loving. She made friends everywhere she went, always had an open door, and was quick to help others. She brought light and comic relief wherever she showed up.
She was a terrible cook (which she admitted freely!), but no one minded—because she brought something far better to every table: warmth, joy, and a wisdom that left an impact.
Ann is survived by her sons, TJ and Tony; her daughter-in-law, Rachel; and her five beloved grandchildren: Jake, Katie, Emma, Thomas, and Nicholas. She also leaves behind her three deeply loving sisters: Vicki, Frankie, and Johnnie.
She will be deeply missed and dearly loved by many.
Services & Flowers: Our family is in the process of coordinating a celebration of Ann’s life in North Huntingdon, PA in the coming month. For those in FL and TX, we plan to hold informal gatherings in the months ahead—more details to come.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to one of the two ministries she loved: One More Time Thrift Store or Teen Challenge Super Thrift, both in Fort Myers, FL.
