Anna Teobaldo's Obituary
Anna (Davi) Teobaldo, 85, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on July 22, 2025. Anna was born January 14, 1940, to Pietro and Pietrina Davi in Camporeale, a town in the province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
She grew up alongside her beloved brother and three sisters, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Salvatore Teobaldo. The two eventually married and immigrated to America, where they built a beautiful life together and raised three cherished children.
Though Anna spoke little English upon her arrival, her determination and talent quickly shone through. She began working as a seamstress at Learburys, a fine men’s tailoring factory. Later, she took a position at Borden’s Ice Cream, dedicating 25 years to the company and forming lifelong friendships. Anna also worked at Paul de Lima Coffee for several years, where she was deeply admired for her work ethic and kind spirit. She retired at the age of 75. Anna loved to work, she poured her heart into everything she did, and her love of beauty was reflected in her elegant home and her persistent welcoming spirit.
Anna and Salvatore eventually left behind snowy winters to settle in the sunny warmth of Southwest Florida. Anna was an incredible cook whose talents brought people together. Her homemade sauce, pasta, cream puffs, cannoli, and countless varieties of Italian cookies graced family celebrations, weddings, and holidays. She delighted in preparing cookie trays for special occasions and continued canning tomatoes and olives well into her later years, always sharing her creations with love. She taught her granddaughter and friends how to make her specialties from scratch, passing down her traditions with joy and generosity.
She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters, making memories that will be treasured forever. She and Salvatore made many trips back to Italy to visit their beloved family there. Her greatest gift was the way she gave of herself—selflessly, wholeheartedly, and always with the intent to bring joy to others, and to help in any way she could. Anna loved deeply and lived by the humble Italian motto that translates to: “Do good and forget about it. Do bad and think about it.”
Her legacy is woven into the lives she touched, the meals and delicacies she prepared, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave freely. She will be remembered for her genuine care and concern for others and the love of having beautiful things around her.
Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore Teobaldo. She is survived by her three children: Rosalie Spurlin (David) of Punta Gorda, FL, Pietrina Buechner of Framingham, MA and Antonio Teobaldo of Port Charlotte, FL. She also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Brian Spurlin (Morgan) of Port Charlotte, FL and Elizabeth Buechner of New Hampshire and two great granddaughters.
Services will be held privately.
