Anne M. Tatler's Obituary
Anne M. Tatler, 95, of Cypress Cove in Fort Myers, died on June 6, 2018 at the Lodge at Cypress Cove.Born in New York City on January 26, 1923 to James and Anne (Quinn) Haggarty, she came to Fort Myers in 2004 from Venice, Fla. where she had lived for 30 years.Anne was graduated from State Teachers College in Salem, Mass. in June 1945 and was married a month later to U.S. Army Air Force Lt. William D. Tatler of Stow, Mass. During his 30 years of military service, he was accompanied by Anne and their two daughters on three-year assignments to Japan and Spain, and to Air Force bases in the U.S.Prior to moving to Venice in 1974, Anne worked at the University of Vermont in Burlington for 10 years. Her husband, Bill, had retired from the Air Force in Burlington as a Lt. Colonel. He died in Venice in 1994.Anne was predeceased by her younger daughter, Joan (Edward) Broderick of Cape Coral in 2012. Survivors include daughter Barbara Lewis of Sherman Oaks, Calif., who founded Joan’s Family Bill of Rights in honor of her sister, and six grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.A Memorial Mass will be offered at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice in July, followed by burial of ashes in Epiphany Memorial Garden.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
