Anthony J. "Tony" Alfano's Obituary
Anthony J. “Tony” Alfano, 91, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL since 1977, formerly of New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 5, 2022. He was born May 17, 1931 in New York, New York to the late John and Antionette (nee Florio) Alfano.
Tony was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving in both Japan and Korea. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Cape Coral, FL where he also participated in the Knights of Columbus (#7131) and was also a very active member of the VFW Post #8463 where he served as Chaplain for many years. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Theresa Salzman and Marie Leonetti.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marilyn Alfano of North Fort Myers, FL; four children, Anthony Alfano Jr. (Marie) of Rochelle Park, NJ, Gary Alfano (Rosemary) of (city), NJ, Richard Alfano of Virginia and Debra Goodwin (Kevin) of North Fort Myers, FL; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Stephen, Nikki, Katrina, Tiffany, Shauna, Melissa and Samantha; as well as five great grandchildren, Declan, Ethan, Mila, Blake and Milani.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL where The VFW Post #8463, will present military honors.
