In addition to being an avid reader, Appie loved the beach and boating, as well as cooking and anything involving family. Well into her 80’s, she could most likely be found each day on a brisk walk along McGregor Boulevard, around Moody River Estates, and even along the rolling hills of her Tennessee retreat.
Appie is survived by her children Mike (Krista) Scott, Rita Scott, and Isabelle (Sisto) Romano and leaves behind her Grandchildren Lindsay (Danny) Garza, Mackenzie (Andy) Estrup, Francesca (Herbert) Oviedo, Richie Burgos, Michael Romano, Nicholas Romano, Nica Romano, Christopher Romano. Great Grandchildren Malia Garza, Liana Garza, and Xander Oviedo. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Gertrude D’Alessandro, sister Isabela Taylor and husband of 46 years, Arthur Scott.
Appie was always doing for others and offering to help, even while surrounded by family in her final before passing peacefully in the care of Hope Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead consider a donation in her memory to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908, (239) 482-4673, or through the internet at:- https://hopehospice.org/donate/ .
A Funeral Mass for Appie will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Ft. Myers, FL 33912, (239) 561-2245. Appie touched so many lives in so many ways over so many years and will be forever missed. She was an amazing lady by every measure who lead a life well-lived and left the Ft. Myers community and everybody she touched better for the experience. Appie will always be fondly missed and warmly remembered.
