Ara Nell Currier's Obituary
Ara Nell Currier passed away at her home, August 15, 2023 with her daughters by her side.
It was the home she designed and built and where she wanted to spend her last days.
Her home was the gathering place for the family. Parties, holidays and graduations were all lovingly
planned and celebrated with her children and grandchildren.
Nell, as her friends called her, grew up in Fort Myers. She attended Fort Myers High School where she
was an all-state guard in basketball, sang in the chorus and was a member of the dance club. She
graduated in 1949.
Nell met the love of her life, Edward A. Currier, Jr. and married June 22, 1952. Barbara B. Mann played
piano at their wedding. Together they built a business, Currier Roofing Co., Inc. and a life of hard work and
dedication to their customers.
Her greatest joy was her grand and great grandchildren. Telling ghost stories under a blanket with a flashlight, taking Whitney on her first trip to New York, soccer games, music recitals and Sunday dinners just a few of the wonderful memories.
Nell was the daughter of Mary Byrd Skinner and Dee Leon Skinner. She loved her parents dearly. She was the youngest of four sisters and a brother - all of whom predeceased her.
She is survived by daughters Deborah Liftg and Robin Currier, Dr. Stephen Liftig, grandchildren Whitney Liftig Lojewski and son-in-law Dr. Stephen J. Lojewski, Jr., Aaron W. Liftig and his fiance' Audrey Zerafa, and great grandchildren Stephen J. Lojewski, III and Ara B. Lojewski. She was very fond of her nieces and great nieces Micki Munro, Beth Drouin, Lori Wadsworth and Dr. Nicole Wadsworth. She was predeceased by her husband Edward A. Currier, Jr. and grandson Mason E. Liftig.
Nell is also survived by a son, Edward A. Currier, III and his family.
