Arthur E. Davis, 88, of Cape Coral, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012.?á He was born April 2,?á1923 in Wallahalla, SC and moved to Cape Coral in 1980 from Washington, D.C.?á He was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Cape Coral, served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was a survivor of the Guadalcanal Campaign.?á He retired in 1977 from the Veterans Administration where he was an attorney for 35 years.?á He was also past Commander of Florida Shrine Mariners, past President of Cape Coral Shrine Club, past Commodore of Kena Yacht Club, was a 50 year Mason and was a member of Scottish Rite, Araba Temple Shrine, Benevolent Order of Elks and the V.F.W. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Left to cherish his memory is his wife of a year and a half, Jane Davis; his two step-children: Jeff Newland of Cape Coral and Brian Newland (Cherilyn) of Pine Island and several nieces and nephews. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
