Assunta Anna "Sue" Dever's Obituary
Assunta Anna Dever, 82, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1998, and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Cape Coral, FL.
Assunta, affectionately known as Sue, was born on October 24, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Louis and Mary (DeVecchis) Ciccotelli. Sue met her beloved husband, Joe, when they were just children, and they married in 1964. Their enduring love story was one for the books, with Sue always describing Joe as her rock.
A devout woman of faith, Sue was a parishioner of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL. She was a loving, caring, and generous woman who treated everyone like family. Her artistic and creative spirit shone through the "baby cakes" and "boo boo bunnies" she lovingly crafted for new babies.
Over the years she became a beloved nanny to many children, who affectionately called her Sue Sue. More than anything, Sue cherished her roles as a wife, mom, mom mom, and aunt. Her family was her greatest joy, especially her two grandsons, John and Jamie whom she adored more than anything in the world.
Sue's strength, love, and kindness were pillars in the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of generosity, creativity, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Joe Dever of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Marie Gentile (John) of Philadelphia, PA and Diana Quinn (Jeff) of Plymouth Meeting, PA; one brother, Andy Ciccotelli (Donna) ;two grandsons, John and Jamie; as well as several nieces, nephews extended family members and friends. Sue was also pre deceased by one sister Perri Morris (Ray).
A gathering for Sue will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 5-7 PM at the Pelican Building of Sandoval.
A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Cape Coral, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Sue in Pennsylvania at a later time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to theAmerican Cancer Society in loving memory of Sue A. Dever.
