Audrey Pfeifer's Obituary
Audrey J, Pfeifer, 78 of Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Dover, Delaware passed away at Hope Hospice, HealthPark, S. Fort Myers on the 18th of March 2010.Audrey had a good and productive life. She was born and lived a while in Australia. The family moved to England where she met her husband who was in the US Air Force. They were soon reassigned to Germany and on their second tour they adopted a baby girl who now lives in Tampa.During their time in Fort Myers Audrey was a great help to her husband who was Chairman of the Shrine Children’s Committee. Then known as the “Crippled Children’s Committee” for Araba Shrine Temple. They were a team caring for crippled and burned children who’s mothers needed help as well as transportation to the Shrine Hospitals and Clinics It was because of her husbands years in the US Air Force they were able to air- evac several severely burned children to the burn units.Later in life she had American Cocker Spaniel dogs. She enjoyed showing them in confirmation competition in many AKC and World Wide Shows in Florida and Georgia.For the past ten years Audrey has fought a brave but private battle with blood, breast, colin, liver, lung and likely trout cancer.Her last two weeks were spent in the loving hands of the nurses, doctors and volunteers of Hope Hospice at HealthPark to whom memorials may be made in her name and sent to 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.She had been married for 54 years. She wished to be remembered as she was in life. Loving her family and dogs.At Audrey’s request there will be no funeral service held. She said I hope people will understand.Cremation will be handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
