Aurora Hernandez's Obituary
Aurora Hernandez, wife to Luis Lopez, mother to Luis Lopez and Maria Lopez, and loving grandmother passed away on June 13th, 2024 at the age of 80 peacefully surrounded by family. She was born to Juan Hernandez and Maria Vargas Arce on April 10th, 1944 in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
She was the heart and soul of our home and family. She was a wonderful mother and human being who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends.
She had a passion for cooking and loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pets.
Aurora’s battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. She taught those around her what it looks like to live bravely and always with joy and a smile. Despite the pain, she fought, kept her sense of humor and stayed strong until the end.
Aurora’s last wish was for her family to always remain united. Her family asks she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She will forever be a bright, guiding light to her family and loved ones and will be missed by all who knew her.
A private ceremony will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest near her beloved sister.
