Barbara Amar's Obituary
Barbara Amar, 84, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on January 22, 2025.
Barbara was a woman whose heart was as big as life itself. Known for her kindness, generosity, and her ability to make anyone feel like a friend, she never knew a stranger. She lit up every room she entered, and her presence was unforgettable. Barbara lived a life full of adventure and joy, enjoying travel, theater, and her deep connection to Temple. These passions not only enriched her own life but also the lives of those around her, as she shared stories, experiences, and a genuine love for the world.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Amar; her parents, Anna and Harry Wolfson; and her sister, Ellen Smiley.
Barbara is survived by her son, Jason Amar, and her grandson, Austin Amar, both of whom she adored with all her heart. She also leaves behind many friends who were fortunate to know her warmth and spirit.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Barbara’s remarkable life will be held on January 25, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. Following the service, the family invites attendees to join them for a reception at Barbara’s home at 4825 Griffin Blvd. Ft. Myers.
Barbara will be deeply missed, but her love, generosity, and larger-than-life spirit will live on in all who were touched by her.
