Barbara Saliling Blanchard's Obituary
Barbara Saliling Blanchard, 45, passed away January 15, 2014. She was born July 2, 1968 in Zamboanga City, Philippines to Felixberta (Pajulas) Saliling and the late Epifanio Saliling but grew up in Manila and Siaton. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her dear grandmother, Concepcion Pajulas. Barbara lost her beautiful life fighting a very hard and courageous battle against a horrible and aggressive form of cancer. Barbara came to Lee County on her birthday in 2002 from the Philippines. She devoted her life to God and family. She prayed the Rosary everyday and had a soft heart for the less fortunate in her region of the Philippines. It was her life mission to help those in need and give all she could to assist others. Her dream was to teach children about God. Barbara also enjoyed shopping (for shoes), traveling, dancing, karaoke, cooking and eating Filipino food. She was a volunteer for Lee Memorial Hospital, a licensed Aesthetician, a Beauty Consultant and loved to make her friends attractive with her makeup artist expertise. Barbara had a unique laugh, a magnetic personality and was very charismatic. She loved the gym and was a zumba fanatic. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 12 years, Randy Blanchard; also, her mother, Felixberta Saliling; sisters, Evelyn and Emily Saliling. There will be a visitation on Friday, January 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and also Saturday, January 25th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM also at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Additional services and interment will be in Siaton Negros Oriental, Philippines.
