To the family of my dear, dear friend, Barbara. I met Barbara when we worked together at Sears; I, a struggling college student and recent resident to Ft. Myers, she, an incredible lady with great insight and a twinkle in her eye. I think the year was 1988. An easy person to know and love, our friendship sprang forth and would be long lasting. I enjoyed her company so much. I think God put her in my life at a point when I needed her. I knew no one in Florida at the time. I remember her good-natured wit and stamina. Her letters were lively and it was as if she were right there speaking to me. She spoke often of her children and grandchildren. Clearly, her family was near and dear to her heart. The age difference didn’t matter. Perhaps it was her love for the Lord which connected us so. She spoke of her church, First Assembly, quite frequently. I always thought it a rare thing when she told me she was from Florida! I know we will meet again and rejoice at the thought. Barbara is a treasure and I am blessed to have known her. Take comfort in the Lord at this time and rejoice that you will meet again for all eternity. God’s peace to you all. Debbie (Erickson) Dow
