Benjamin Franklin Herr Jr.'s Obituary
B. Franklin Herr Jr. of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully while under Hospice care on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was 89 years old.Franklin was born on March 17, 1928 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Julia (Elmer) and Benjamin F. Herr Sr. He served in the United States Army and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Commendation. He was a Certified Public Accountant who provided many years of public service to the federal government at the United States Government Accounting Office. He was married to and leaves behind his loving wife, Virginia R. (Carr) Herr and his son, Wayne K. Herr (Amy) and their children: William and Alexander. Also surviving is his extended family of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and step-daughters. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Ron and his older brother, Howard.A Memorial Service for Frank will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on the date of his 90th Birthday, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2565 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952, (941) 625-5262. Military honors by the United States Army will immediately follow this ceremony.
