Bernard Rey, 88, of Cape Coral, FL died March 26, 2017 in Fort Myers. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 at First Assembly of God 4701 Summerlin Rd, Fort Myers, FL, 33919. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Cremation rites will follow. Memorials: First Assembly of God. Bernard was born August 20, 1928, in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the son of Mr. and Mrs Rafael Rey. He married Estela Fernandez on January 7, 1950 in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. He was an accountant most of his life and retired from Publix. Bernard was a member of First Assembly of God in Fort Myers. He was a member of Astronomy Club, Veterans Society and was a long time donor to St. Jude’s. He enjoyed fishing, and was a wonderful softball pitcher. Surviving are his spouse, Estela Rey; children, Yanet Rey of San Diego, CA, Violeta Pino of Cape Coral, Angela Summerville of Cape Coral, Nancy Moncivaiz (Ruben) of Cape Coral, Jose Rey (Stephanie) of Huntsville, AL; siblings, Titi of Dominican Republic, Luisa of Honduras, Mayi Rey of Miami, FL; and a total of 38 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren.
