Bernard E. Oliveri's Obituary
Mr. Bernard E. Oliveri of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 23, 2017 in his home. He was 80. Bernard was born July 30, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York; the only child of the late Bernard Edward Oliveri, Sr. and Beatrice Samaritano Oliveri. He worked in security with Brink’s Company. In addition to his work in the world of security, he also engaged in many different career paths throughout his lifetime; unafraid of the challenges of trying something new. Some of the notable experiences he shared include working as a chef in a restaurant, selling insurance, driving a taxi cab and a playing as a musician in a band. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam era. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rhonda (2009). Bernard is survived by his three children, Rai Simonson, Michael Oliveri and David Oliveri. He is also the loving grandfather of three grandchildren; Corina Oliveri, Sylvanna Oliveri and Haily Carlisle. Bernard is also the proud grandfather of one great grandchild, Angel Nicholas. Visitation will be held 3pm – 6pm Sunday with a funeral ceremony beginning at 5:30 pm, Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved bride, Rhonda in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor are suggested to The Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
