Bernard J. St. Jean's Obituary
Bernard J. St. Jean of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly from Stow, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 following some recent health challenges. He was 90 years old.Bernard was born on June 10, 1927 in Central Falls, Rhode Island, the proud son of Antoinette (San Souci) and Ophra St. Jean. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps who proudly served his country during World War II. He spent his working life in the plastics industry, beginning in sales and then rising through the ranks into production and administration. Over the years he became one of the leading experts in the specialty of color dispersion in the plastics and coating industry and retired in 1989 as the General Manager of Akrochems Revlis Division.Bernard was the loving husband to Juliette St. Jean who sadly predeceased him in 1999 after 51 years of marriage. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children Michael St. Jean (Kathy Litvak) of Newton Falls, Ohio, Steven (Bonnie) St. Jean of Stow, Ohio and Elizabeth Campbell of Ravenna, Ohio; 8 adored grandchildren and 15 cherished great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Jeannine Bastien and brothers Ronald and Robert St. Jean; a number of extended family members and a multitude of others who were proud to know Bernard and call him a friend. He was also preceded in death by his brother Richard St. Jean and his long-time girlfriend and companion Patricia Johns-Gajewski.Immediate funeral services are private. Arrangements for Bernard’s final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
