Bertil "Jim" Jenson's Obituary
Bertil Sigvard Jenson, better known simply as "Jim" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, April 14, 2022 while under the care of Hope Hospice following some recent health setbacks. He was 95 years old.
Jim was born in Ronneby, Sweden on February 25, 1927, the proud son to Hanna (Larson) and Hugo Jonsson. His family immigrated to the United States and settled in the Chicage area where Jim attended school. He went on to serve our nation as a member of the United States Army where he was awarded a World War II Victory Decoration for his action in the European, African and Middle-East Theatres. He was the loving husband to and leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Mabel (Grey) Jenson.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends are welcome to gather for an hour preceding this service beginning at 10:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of these ceremonies, an Honor Guard Unit from the United States Army will offer Funeral Military Honors in recognition of Jim's contributions to the defense and protection of his adopted country.
