Bessie Zaverdinos' Obituary
Bessie Zaverdinos passed away suddenly four days before her 82nd birthday. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Zaverdinos; her brother, Michael Pallas; her sister, Jean Xikis; her two sons: Jim and John Vlahos from her previous husband, George Vlahos. She was born in New York City where she attended New York University for 2 years before she married Mr. Zaverdinos. She was the most loving and sensitive person and extremely intelligent. She received honors from the doctors who attended her first husband’s illnesses, and they were impressed by her constant attendance and dedication as she tried to help her husband through his sickness. Upon his death, she worked for Hospice and the love she expressed toward her patients was so exceptional that she received many awards. She later became a legal secretary and showed exceptional talent. She was self-taught about computers and became so proficient that she began to teach other legal secretaries. Bessie also organized a group of singles which helped those in need of companionship. She was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Clearwater where she was praying for and leading people to the Lord, she received a bronze plaque for her dedication and loyalty to the church. She was a member of the Village Church at Shell Point where she acted as a care caller. Private cryptside services will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
