Betty Jean Myatt's Obituary
BETTY JEAN MYATT, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2015 at Shell Point in Fort Myers.Born January 25, 1924 in Melba, Idaho, Betty was the daughter of Claun C. Alexander and Roberta Alexander. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Myatt, her son David Myatt and daughter-in-law Patricia Myatt, her daughter Marilyn Myatt, and her grandsons Andrew and James Myatt.Betty, a Registered Nurse, graduated from nurses training during World War II. She was an emergency nurse at North American Aviation in Los Angeles, and was a U.S. Navy nurse at the Coronado, California, Naval Hospital when she met her husband, who was a naval aviator.After her children were born, Betty was a Red Cross volunteer at several hospitals in Virginia and California.Betty was an accomplished artist, especially with charcoals and pastels. Her drawings appeared in a number of local exhibitions. She had a fine voice, sang in church choirs throughout her life, and enjoyed many volunteer activities at Shell Point.A memorial service will be held at The Village Church at Shell Point. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Betty. Condolences may be left to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
