Betty Lou Olson's Obituary
Betty Lou Olson, aged 79, passed away on February 21, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. A
vibrant resident of Fort Myers since 2016, Betty brought the same trust in God, energy
and enthusiasm to the Sunshine State as she had during her 60+ years in San Diego,
California.
Born on September 27, 1945, in Ottawa, Kansas, as the middle of three children, Betty
was a beacon of strength, fierce loyalty, wisdom and compassion. Her professional
accomplishments were many, as she skillfully managed a multitude of tasks with a
remarkable business acumen. She received her MA in Counseling from U. of Arizona.
Accepting Christ as her Savior at 8 yrs. old, her faith in Jesus was her guiding light
through the many facets of her life. Her family took top priority. As a devoted wife and
loving mother, Betty cherished her role within her family.
She highly treasured her friendships. Spanning 49 years, Betty gathered with a close-
knit group of 12 Christian “Pals” for monthly dinners and many other activities. Her
husband, Keith, shared a beautiful 57-year marriage with Betty. Together, they served in
churches, interfaith ministries, traveled (often with young Ryan), worked hard and loved
parenting son Ryan. Betty and Keith joined First Presbyterian Church in 2015 where
she served as Trustee.
Betty Lou Olson leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication and unwavering faith. Her
infectious smile, joyous laughter, kindness and insightful communication will be missed
by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Lewis and Mildred Ginn, and brother,
Eldon Ginn. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Olson of Fort Myers, FL; son,
Ryan K. Olson of Fort Myers, FL; one sister, Linda Duncan (Wayne) of La Mesa, CA;
three adored grandchildren, Elijah, Elizabeth and Levi; other extended family members
and many friends.
