Bill Eshbaugh, M.D., F.A.C.S.'s Obituary
Dr. Bill Eshbaugh, M.D., F.A.C.S., or Dr. Bill as he was more commonly known, grew up in Fort Myers, Florida and was a resident of Bonita Springs, Florida and passed away suddenly at Gulf Coast Medical Center on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.Dr. Bill graduated from Fort Myers High School, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Duke University Medical School in Durham, North Carolina, General Surgery Residency at University of Florida in Gainesville, and Plastic Surgery Residency at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He was Chief Resident during his last year of general surgery residency at University of Florida.Bill was a gifted and talented plastic surgeon. He had a deep passion for helping others, whether he knew them or not. He made several mission trips to Central America, to perform free cleft palate surgeries on those in need. He won many awards during high school, college and medical school. He had a humble confidence and gentle way. He was extremely generous, and wanted to share so much with so many.Bill enjoyed swimming and basketball during his middle school and high school years. He always enjoyed travel, the beach, and spending time with family and friends. He loved cats, and always enjoyed having at least one cat in the home. He had a special fondness for Sanibel Island, where growing up he had many happy times at the second family home.Bill was deeply loved by and will be greatly missed by his mother Barbara, sister Missie, brother Calvin, sister-in-law Krista, and nephews Andrew, Daniel and Christopher. He also leaves behind his friends and colleagues at Riverchase Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, where he worked for nine years. They were like family to him. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Willis G.
