Bobbie Alvarez's Obituary
Bobbie Alvarez, age 92, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2019. She was born in Hawthorne, Florida, on March 5, 1927. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beckham. In 1947, she married Ralph L. Alvarez, and they moved to Fort Myers, Florida, in 1951. She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Fort Myers, where she was the Director of Girl’s Auxillary, a Sunday School teacher, a leader in the Woman’s Missionary Union, and a librarian in the church library. She was a talented seamstress and an avid reader. She lovingly and faithfully lived her entire life to serve God and her family.Bobbie is survived by her children, Babs Alvarez, Len Alvarez, and Gail and her son-in-law, David Black, by her grandson, Bryan Black and his wife Jennifer and great grand daughter, Emily, by her grandson Grant Black and his wife Kerri and great granddaughter, Finley, and by her sisters Margie Sapp, Irma Hales, and Sandra Cannon.The Celebration of Life service will be held at City Gate Ministries, 1735 Jackson Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901, on Friday, April 5th, at 2:00pm.In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Love and Compassion Ministries at www.LoveCompassion.com and/or The Alzheimer’s Association.
