Bobby Carl King's Obituary
Bobby Carl King, 74 passed away April 4, 2013. He was born May 15, 1938 in Floydada, Texas to the late Robert E. Lee King and Grace Carlene (Brister) King. He moved to Fort Myers, Florida in January of this year from San Antonio, Texas. He was born and raised in Texas and graduated from G.W. Brackenridge High School in San Antonio. He excelled in roller skating and won the Mens Singles competition in 1955 at the Texas State Roller Skating Championships. He became a professional skater and also taught many successful skaters in his career. He was a 20-year member of the Society of Roller Skating Teachers of America, 1960-1980.He served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1961-1966. He received his training in logistics at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In later years, he enjoyed watching professional sports and was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and the San Antonio Spurs. He was also active in many dart leagues in San Antonio and earned the nickname, ?Ç£The Legend?Ç¥. He was a prolific writer and poet, studied astronomy as a hobby and was a fan of all genres of music. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family in Texas, Florida and across the country.Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Karma Dawn (King) Marino and her husband Chris of Fort Myers, Florida; former wife Barbara King of Fort Myers, Florida; Brother Jackson King and his wife Teri of San Raphael, California; and grandchildren Cassidy, Andrew and Shane Marino and Angela (Marino) Roberts.There will be a memorial service on Friday, April 19th at 12:00 PM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Fort Myers, Florida. Interment with military honors will follow in the cemetery.
