Brian James Aten's Obituary
Brian James Aten, 68, of Cape coral passed peacefully under the tender care of Hope Hospice on September 2, 2023. Brian was born December 16, 1954, to Jay and Betty (Proper) Aten in Lansing, MI.
Brian has called Florida his home since 1963. Throughout his life he enjoyed golfing, working on his project cars, spreading the word of Christ as his savior, spending time with his children and their families, and helping those who needed a hand. He will be remembered fondly as a voice of compassion and strength, as well as a confidant to those who needed a shoulder to lean on.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Jay, his father-in-law Carroll, his daughter-in-law Brooke, and several mutual friends of Bill.
Brian leaves his loving memory with his survivors, his children Brian Aten II, Julie (John) Gorman, and Matthew (Christina) Aten, as well as his longtime partner, Marjorie Blake. He also leaves behind two siblings, Dan Aten, and Linda (Dan) Morris, their families, as well as one grandson, and two bonus grandsons, whom he loved dearly. Brian is also survived by the mother of his children, Christine Aten, and her mother Evelyn.
Brian's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the care of his final arrangements. His interment was held in a private family service.
All are invited to a Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1st at St. John the Apostle Metropolitan Community Church, 3049 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
