Bruce A. Bynum, 79, of Fort Myers, FL, was embraced by God at 12:55 AM, July 6, 2014 at Hope Hospice, Joanne’s House in Bonita Springs.Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2439 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, with Pastor, Jeff Deyoe, officiating. Memorials have been suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.A family service will be held at a later date in Neodesha, KS at the farm of his Aunt Marie – during the 51st Thanksgiving celebration.Bruce was born June 1, 1935 in Neodesha, KS, the son of Lonnie and Pauline (Cranor) Bynum. He married Marilyn C. Clark in Grand Junction, CO and had just celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage on July 2, 2014. He was a graduate from University of Kansas where he studied business, played football, and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He worked in heavy construction for International Harvester , the Brandeis Company and was president of the Willett Companies in Chicago, IL, prior to moving to Fort Myers, where he became owner/operator of Global Foreign Car Parts.He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two children, Gretchen Longmire and husband, Bill and their two sons Colin and Sam of Kansas City, KS , Katy Fenbert and husband, Tim and their two children Mitch and Abby of Atlanta, GA.Bruce will be remembered for his generosity of spirit and wonderful sense of humor by his family and many friends, whom he cherished.The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff of Joanne’s House.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
