Bruce Edwin Fassett's Obituary
Bruce Edwin Fassett passed away at age 54 on January 24, 2015 in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Findlay, Ohio, the son of Thomas and Marjorie Fassett, now deceased, he lived in the Fort Myers area since 1968. Bruce was a graduate of North Fort Myers High School in 1978 and his beloved Florida State University in 1986. Bruce was hired as a lifeguard at the Lehigh Acres Community Pool in Feb 1987. He was promoted to Pool Supervisor when San Carlos Pool opened in June 1989, where he has continued to work. Bruce was so passionate about Aquatics and teaching kids to swim and he spent many years as an age group Swim Coach with both Swim Florida and Gulf Coast Swim Team. He was a longtime Supervisor with Lee County Parks and Recreation in charge of the San Carlos Community Pool. Bruce served his community in various volunteer positions, including as President and Board Member of the Florida Recreation & Park Association Foundation Board of Trustees and as an Officer and Board Member of the Arthritis Foundation, Florida Chapter. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ladd and Renee Fassett of Orlando and their children. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 11 a.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers.
