Byron Glenn Christopher's Obituary
Byron Glenn Christopher of Fort Myers, Florida, who died July 9, 2022, was born on September 21, 1919, in Prophetstown, Illinois. His parents were Edith and Glenn Christopher of Youngstown, Ohio.
Byron graduated from South High School, Youngstown, Ohio and from Ohio State University in 1941 with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity at Ohio State. He is also a veteran of World War II. He then worked at the Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company for 42 years.
Byron married Georgann Waddell Christopher of Marion, Ohio in Akron, Ohio on May 1, 1943. Byron and his wife lived in Youngstown, Ohio, from 1946 to 1951 and then in Poland, Ohio, a suburb of Youngstown, from 1951 to 1991 when they moved to Fort Myers, Florida.
Byron is survived by his son David Michael Christopher and his wife, Kimberly, and his daughter-in-law Theresa in Louisville, Ky. His was predeceased by his wife and his older son, Jeffrey George Christopher. He was also predeceased by his parents and his brother, Alden Christopher, of Youngstown, Ohio.
He has three grandchildren, Angela Thornhill of Leesburg, Florida, Matthew Christopher of Old Lyme, Connecticut and Lt. Col. Steven Christopher, US Air Force, and nine great-grandchildren.
His memorial service will be held at Fort Myers, Florida Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saurday July 23, 2022 at 11 a.m.
