Calvin Knapp's Obituary
Calvin George Knapp of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the age of 91, under the compassionate care of Hope Hospice. Born on December 28, 1932, in Aetna, Indiana, Calvin was the beloved son of the late Cecil and Vicie (nee Howell) Knapp.
Calvin proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran, reflecting his unwavering dedication and patriotism. He moved to Fort Myers in 1978, where he became an integral part of the community. With a 28-year career at Robb and Stucky, Calvin left a lasting impact on his colleagues and customers alike with his hard work and warm spirit.
In his later years, Calvin found immense joy and fulfillment working at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. His compassion and dedication to helping families navigate through their most difficult times endeared him to many, and his presence brought comfort and solace.
He loved gardening, flowers, feeding the wildlife, and all the dogs in his neighborhood. Calvin also cherished going to church and singing, finding great joy in sharing his voice and faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2018.
Calvin is survived by his two sons, Kevin Knapp and his wife, Lana of Fort Myers, FL and Kris Knapp of Fort Myers, FL; two granddaughters, Alina and Kylie; as well as one great granddaughter, Siena.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home.
In the summer, the family will gather in Indiana where Calvin and his late wife, Helen will be laid to rest together.
Calvin's legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
