Carl Lloyd Blackburn's Obituary
Carl Lloyd Blackburn of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at his residence on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was 86 years old.
Carl was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 3, 1935, the proud son to Grace (Mellen) and Homer Earl Blackburn. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and following his discharge from the Armed Forces, Carl opened his own auto repair facility and worked hard to build his business into a success. After settling in Florida, Carl worked briefly at Bill Branch Chevrolet before joining Val Ward Cadillac where he managed the service department schedule and workflow as the Service Department Dispatcher.
Carl leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son Terry Blackburn and cherished daughter Victoria Blackburn. He also leaves behind many extended family members and numerous friends who are greatly disheartened by the loss of his company. Sadly, Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his adored wife Shirley Louise (Hovell) Blackburn who passed away in 2019.
Immediate funeral arrangements are private. Arrangements for Carl's final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Cremation rites will be accorded and Carl will thereafter be laid to rest alongside his dearly departed wife Shirley inside the Cremation Garden located at the Sylvan Terrace Section of Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
